CLASS DESCRIPTION
All Level Hatha Yoga
In these classes we will work with gentle vinyasa, learning how to move with fluidity and ease whilst keeping the mind focused on the rhythmic flow of the breath. We will also work with static postures, helping you find a balance of strength and release within the body, learning that the journey into and out of a posture is as important as the posture itself. These classes are suitable for beginners or anyone who wants to understand how to release tension within the body.
Previous Experience Hatha Yoga
These classes work in six weekly themes allowing the more experienced Yogi to take their practice deeper both mentally and physically. We will work with a combination of vinyasa, to build strength and stamina and static postures to increase flexibility. Mindfulness and breath awareness are strongly themed throughout the class.
Community Hatha Yoga
This is a half price class, open to everyone (men and women) of all ages and physical ability. A breath focused class, learning how to move the body with fluidly and ease, resulting in greater flexibility and suppleness.
Yin Yoga
Yin Yoga gives us the space to slow down, a chance to stay with our experiences rather than always rushing. In this Yin Yoga practice the postures are mainly sitting and are held for extended periods of time. Within these long passive holds there is an encouragement of softness and an emphasis on relaxing muscular tissue. Through these attitudes there can be a gaining of harmony and peace, a deeper sense of balance and feelings of calmness and acceptance. Previous Yoga experience recommended.
Restorative Yin Yoga
This restorative class induces deep body relaxation with emphasis on breath awareness, release and stillness. Similarly to the practice of Yin Yoga we focuses on holding postures for extended periods but we use copious amounts of props such as bolsters and blankets to help the body relax. This restorative class is a perfect complement to a dynamic practice and an extremely subtle and profound practice on its own. This practise is accessible to all ages and experience of Yoga.
